With This Subtraction From The Lions Defensive Line Here’s The Likely Draft Replacement

I saw this post concerning Mike Daniels, and the high chance of him not returning to the Lions next season. The title of it is:10 players who could interest the Lions at the Senior Bowl. Once I took a look at it it made me feel that the Defensive Lineman is being said to focus on as Lions fans. After going through it yourself let me know if you somewhat disagree with how I feel…

With This Subtraction From The Lions Defensive Line Here’s The Likely Draft Replacement

DT Neville Gallimore (Oklahoma): Mike Daniels was signed to lead Detroit’s interior pass rush. Instead, he hit the quarterback twice all season while dealing with an avalanche of injuries. Da’Shawn Hand, the other top interior pass rusher, played three games all season due to injury problems of his own. If you’re looking for reasons why Detroit’s pass rush was so bad, start there. Now Daniels is eligible to become a free agent, and A’Shawn Robinson too. Even Snacks Harrison, the top run defender, is weighing retirement. All of which is to say Detroit will have a close eye on interior linemen in the coming months. Gallimore will be one of the better ones in Mobile because of his ability to get after the quarterback. He won 11.8% of his pass rushes last season, which led the Big 12 according to PFF. He got home for four sacks.

We think Gallimore will go to the Indianapolis Colts 1 pick before the Lions pick in the 2nd round, so here’s who’ll most likely be the pick if the Lions take a Defensive Lineman (NT/DL) early in the draft, say the 2nd round…

Ok, you read the above article, and you see why I’m not feeling Gallimore will be available for the Lions in the 2nd round. It’s like the writer feel that Lions fans need to learn how to function with a broken heart because the hope of having a dominant defensive line maybe years off!

What are your thoughts on it?
