Matthew Stafford vs Packers: Why The Lions Will Win

Monday Night is a critical game for the coach Matt Patricia and the whole Matthew Stafford vs Packers discussion. Coach Patricia, just a year into his head coaching career, has a chance to set the tone as the NFC North’s “Big Bad” coach to be reckoned with and it all stems from Matthew Stafford’s execution of the offense. Looking at the first 4 games of the 2019 NFL season, Stafford and Patricia have the team on the right track, but the narrative is still out there that Green Bay is the team to beat in the NFC North. Here are some examples of national sites following this assumption…

After a rough first year at the helm in Detroit, Matt Patricia has the Lions playing very good football in 2019. Matthew Stafford has been outstanding, and for the first time in an age, the Lions can run the ball with authority. Of course, they’ll be tested by Green Bay’s dynamic defensive front.

Here’s another site touting the Green Bay Defensive front…suggesting that Matthew Stafford vs Packers may not go well for the Lions. We don’t agree with them…

The Green Bay Packers’ defense looks to be the real deal, and they are currently ranked sixth against the pass in 2019. Back at home at Lambeau they welcome Stafford and the Detroit Lions. Stafford comes significantly cheaper than Mahomes, but he’s got a tough matchup against the Pack. Without elite weapons around him in the Detroit offense, avoid Stafford this week.

But for Matthew Stafford we’re sure he’s more concerned about the overall results of the season and if it goes anything like what Sport Illustrated think…the NFC better watch out…

Like a few other of the teams on this morning’s list, the Lions have shown dramatic improvement, which many credit to the hire of 1st-year offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell; who has become an influence upon Detroit QB Matthew Stafford. Under Bevell’s guidance, Stafford has blossomed into one of the League’s most efficient passers — and with a tough defense overseen by head coach and former long-time Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Detroit will be a team that could shock a lot of folks once the playoffs arrive…

So there you have it…Matthew Stafford vs Packers should be very interesting to watch because a victory gives the Lions more ammo to silence the doubters and haters. It’s not about yards; it’s not about touchdowns per se, as long as the Lions have 1 more point than the Packers, a win improves the highly used argument of Matthew Stafford vs teams with a winning record. It’s time to reverse all the history of the (automatic assumption) of Green Bay having any edge over the Lions!

Stafford has a rushing attack, plus capable tight ends, formidable receivers, a defense that’s tough against the run, and DBs that have emerged as a turnover creating force (see KC Chiefs game); all helping this time around!

We expect the Lions to continue their winning streak over the Green Bay Packers, which is 4 games over the last 2 seasons!

So, all the Stafford haters can shut it up based on that, and with a victory Monday Night;

It goes from being a convenient 4-0; because Aaron Rodgers was hurt/didn’t play at all/got knocked out of the game early so it kinda don’t count

…to the image of Stafford chugging a beer

while Rodgers need some extra time

…aka…The Lions may just better at playing football than an Aaron Rodgers led team!

It’s time to keep shutting him up too…Period!
