This Marvin Jones Eagles performance proves everything we were saying in our Marvin Jones Jr. unappreciated article. After checking out this recap of the Detroit Lions wide receiver game against Philadelphia…

Marvin Jones Jr. Eagles Performance Proves Us Correct And It’s Awesome

The Lions knock off the Eagles 27-24 behind Marvin Jones Jr.’s touchdown and Jamal Agnew‘s 100-yard kickoff return.

Lions inactives: OG Oday Aboushi, OG Beau Benzschawel, QB Jeff Driskel, WR Travis Fulgham. DE Da’Shawn Hand, CB Amani Oruwariye, RB Paul Perkins

Eagles inactives: RB Corey Clement, OLB Kamu Grugier-Hill, OG Nate Herbig, WR DeSean Jackson, WR Alshon Jeffery, DT Timmy Jernigan, DE Shareef Miller

Injuries:

Darius Slay, CB, Lions. Slay suffered an injured hamstring in the second half and did not return, but after the game was spotted in the Lions’ locker room moving fairly well, with a slight limp. He declined an extensive interview with reporters, but did say, “I’m good,” when asked how he was feeling. When asked if he’d be good to go next week against Kansas City, Slay said, “We’ll see.” If Slay can’t play, don’t be surprised if Mike Ford ends up getting the assignment against the Chiefs’ highly-rated passing attack. — Michael Rothstein

Mike Daniels, DL, Lions. Daniels sustained a foot injury in the first half and almost immediately hobbled to the locker room. He was ruled out fairly quickly, and after the game, he was spotted with a boot on one of his feet, using crutches. There’s no timetable for his return, but Daniels was on injured reserve at the end of last season with a foot injury, so it’s going to be something to monitor. The Lions used a bunch of Kevin Strong and also Damon Harrison to replace Daniels, but for the future, the potential return of Da’Shawn Hand from an elbow injury could soften his loss if Daniels is out for any significant amount of time. — Michael Rothstein

Ronald Darby, CB, Eagles. Darby suffered a hamstring injury in the first half against the Lions and did not return. This is a troublesome development for Darby, who has been working his way back from a torn ACL. Young corners Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas were splitting reps prior to the injury. Both will have a starting role should Darby miss any games. — Tim McManus

Andre Dillard, LT, Eagles. Dillard suffered a knee injury against Detroit. He was in for Jason Peters, who exited with an illness before eventually returning. The fact that Peters was able to make a return to play eases some concern should Dillard have to miss any time. — Tim McManus

Now that you’ve checked out the Marvin Jones Jr. Eagles recap, did you see what we we’re saying in the article about how if we’re as Lions fans aren’t careful we can unintentionally devalue his contributions to the team. Don’t sleep this NFC North receiver. His numbers probably won’t always be the jump off the page type, but they can lead to the team playing winning football consistenly!

Are we on point about wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. or insane?

In a weird way shouldn’t thank the Cincinnati Bengals for trying to resign him, keeping him in the AFC North, because if they had we wouldn’t be able to enjoyplays like this…
