Why This Season Answers Is Matthew Stafford A Hall of Famer

Is matthew stafford a hall of famerThis season will be the answer to the question:is Matthew Stafford a Hall of Famer? As seen in the video released by the Detroit Lions, there’s a lot to be hyped and excited about for the 2019-20 season. Take a look..

Here’s start of the reason why this season will be the answer to Stafford’s Hall of Famer or not cloud. We can start with GM Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia.

Quinn has been attempting build this team from the inside out; with a focus on changing the culture of the organization. Coach Patricia is his hire, from the system that the GM is trying to turn the Lions into; that also has the same philosophies…aka his guy!

Many fans and national writers are split down the middle as to will this work in Detroit, here’s an example of it…

Patricia was hired to quell this losing culture.

The Patriots have had nothing but success since their first Super Bowl in 2002. Patricia has been a part of that success for almost the entire run. It is hard to think of a coach (besides Belichick himself) who could be better suited to shift the culture in the desired direction.

With that being said, the aforementioned exhaustion of losing keeps Patricia on a very short leash. He will need to change everything that is in his control and quickly. The players need to buy in, the schemes need to work, and the rest of the coaching personnel will need to be on the same page.

So if the season goes awry, then the notion that the Lions need to clean house completely is being drummed into the minds of the fans. Some fans are resisting it, others are hoping for the coach to fall on his face and lose as badly to the Cardinals and rookie QB Kyler Murray as the team did last season to a rookie QB in Sam Donald and the Jets.

But for the fans hoping for success, here’s some relief…

Arizona’s New Offense Shouldn’t Scare Detroit

The fact that this match-up takes place in Week 1 favors Detroit. Arizona’s offense played vanilla during the preseason because Coach Kingsbury wanted to reveal as little as possible.

But Lions defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni has plenty of experience against the Air Raid concept. He knows what sort of formations to expect. The four wide receiver sets and tempo won’t surprise him.

Instead, Week 1 is a tough spot for Arizona because the Cardinals will try, for the first time, to transition seamlessly from practicing their offense to executing it at full speed in a game.

So coach Patricia has a lot working in his and the team’s favor to make sure 2019 firat game isn’t a repeat 2018.

Now it’s going to take a Patriot like season to completely change the minds of Lion haters and outsiders. Already the team isn’t taken seriously as contenders for the division, playoffs, or anythings of significance. For example…

For the first time since 2010, a team not named the Green Bay Packers or Minnesota Vikings took home the NFC North crown, as the Bears soared to the top of the division under first-year head coach Matt Nagy while both Green Bay and Minnesota missed the dance, and of course, Detroit pulling in the rear. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Heading into 2019, the NFC North crown is shaping up to be a three-team demolition derby, with the Packers reloading their defense with talent and getting Aaron Rodgers back to full health, another year of developing rapport between Kirk Cousins and his weapons, and the Bears returning nearly everyone from last year’s division-winning club.

A 3 team race? Seriously?!

This is where Matthew Stafford and the Hall of Famer angle comes into play. For his career he hasn’t had a running game to compliment his passing abilities. It reminds many of John Elway’s career prior to Terrell Davis, and coach Mike Shanahan.

Functionally, the Lions have worked and is working to build a top level defense that will effectively get the ball back to offense! It’ll be done primarily through stopping the opponents’ rushing attack, second with stops on 3rd downs, 3rd INTs, 4th fumbles.

When the players get this defensive system to the point it becomes 2nd nature then Matthew Stafford and this rushing attack should take control over the game.

Here’s what the result of doing this and not doing it can equal to Superbowl potential vs a losing season vs a disasterous losing season. Take a look…

Why they will: Head coach Matt Patricia is finally getting his players into the system, signing Trey Flowers for big money and adding corners Rashaan Melvin and Justin Coleman. The offense has underrated talent with Matthew Stafford, Kerryon Johnson and strong wideouts.

Why they won’t: Despite the offensive talent, the Lions ranked 25th in points last season. There are still major questions at linebacker, and the NFC North is arguably the toughest division in football with the Packers, Bears and Vikings all having a real shot at making the playoffs.

So in conclusion, why this season can be the answer to the is Matthew Stafford a hall of famer is how does he adjust to “NOT” needing to create magic game after game; but only go into magic mode when the team absolutely needs it!

Stafford has the system around him that is setting it up for him and the Lions to win and win consistently due to wearing teams down and having the QB who has a knack for late game comeback victories.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford has the GM who keeps tinkering with the first line (O Line) of protection, and isn’t shy about investing heavily into it. He has a coach who’s won Superbowls with play calling on the defensive side of the ball so defense will always be designed to win. He has the offensive coordinator who’s won a Superbowl with his play calling, so running the ball with timely passes does work!

Passing yards should a byproduct of the process of winning the game, not the focal point! Quite sure if the Lions win the Superbowl with Matthew Stafford he won’t mind if it’s done in a style similar to Russell Wilson compared to Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning or even Joe Flacco!

Just to win with the Lions will probably set him as a first ballot Hall of Famer!

Do you agree or we gone completely bonkers?
