Frank Ragnow’s ankle sprain during the third preseason game could throw a wrench into any plans. If the team’s starting center can’t go Sunday at Arizona, Graham Glasgow likely would start there, creating another guard opening in Glasgow’s spot in a unit bookended by starting tackles Taylor Decker and Rick Wagner.
It’s nothing new for a line that’s been maneuvered in and out of combinations all summer.
Speaking to that, Davidson praised Dahl’s ability to bounce between center and guard spots, while Wiggins added right tackle responsibilities to his platter midway through camp, in addition to both guard spots.
“The benefit that we’ve earned here at this point is we’ve had a bunch of guys play together,” Davidson said. “We’ve had seven different guys rotate in those positions, right guard, left guard and center.
“The wheels have not come off with the different structure of those guys.”

For us, until Frank Ragnow returns, the offensive line likely won't look or function how the Lions planned to rush the ball. This may lead to the team having to return to using quick passes to set up the running game which means that starting with Taylor Decker ranking for the Lions offensive line can improve much higher if he can keep the opponent's best pass rusher at bay. This could be the difference in a successful 1st 4 games of the season and Lions fans looking at more college to see who'll likely be a top 5-10. He should be up to the task afterall he is one of the all-time Ohio State offensive players for former coach Urban Meyer, plus considering that the GM Bob Quinn added no players on the offensive line , one has to believe that Quinn believes in the players we have and the ability of the coaches to get the quality of play needed to maintain the team until Ragnow gets back.
